Channels of Distribution Concepts
Channels of distribution include any intermediary entity–firms or individuals–between the producer and the final user or consumer. Channels may be direct, that is a producer controls distribution itself. Or it may be indirect, that is, retailing and wholesaling are independent, or partially independent, from the producer. In both cases, goods are moved physically, and physical distribution is an issue.
